December 16, 2022
It is with great pleasure that TCA (The Chinese Association – Gauteng), announces its support of the Woodrock Animal Rescue by way of a donation of R5,000.00 as well as the adoption of a kennel of 5 selected animals (It costs R350.00 per
month to adopt one animal for a period of a year). The animals chosen will be those least likely to find a home due to their abject condition and/or appearance.
This donation is from the TCA, TCA Women’s Federation (TCAWF) and the TCA Youth.
The purpose of this donation is to kick-start a TCA initiative in collaboration with selected animal shelters to allow them to continue the dedicated service they provide for unwanted, neglected, and defenceless animals.
The greater objective is to raise additional awareness of the plight of these animals and to request all other associations, institutions, and individuals throughout South Africa and also globally to join hands with TCA in giving much needed
support for deserving animal shelters.
In order to start this campaign TCA will be doing the inaugural donation on Sunday 18 th December 2022 at 11am at the Woodrock Farm. For those that want to donate or attend on this Sunday 18th December – please contact Bianca on
082 469 8343 or bianca@woodrockanimalrescue.co.za. Alternatively Paulette on 082 456 4875 or info@tcagp.co.za.
The various alternatives for donating are as follows:-
TCA requests and challenges you all to kindly meet or beat our donation or just assist by sponsoring one animal or several animals or volunteering your time.
If every single organization or family in SA who are able to do so responds with generosity it will be a great boost to the selfless animal shelters who care for our furry friends and will enable them to do so much more for these beloved creatures.
We will be meeting with the Woodrock Animal Rescue owner Stella. As well as Charlene Ma, the lady that first made us
aware of Woodrock Animal Rescue and the fine work they are doing not only in their caring of the animals but also their monitoring of other shelters that they also provide support to and where it is deemed necessary the closing down of shelters who do not care properly for their animals.
It is also hoped that this campaign will show that Chinese people are equally lovers of pets and animals as anyone else all over the world despite the negative stereotypes that they have become labelled with because of the heinous acts of a few of the mindless minority within our community whose acts of cruelty towards animals we would like to publicly condemn!
