The Chinese Association – Gauteng was founded in 1903 and is the oldest Chinese association in South Africa. Most of our members are multi-generational South African Chinese. We look after the interests of the Chinese community whilst at the same time partnering and working together with the broader South African communities in developing a mutual understanding of each other.
On 11 July 2026, The Chinese Association Gauteng (TCA) officially opened its community basketball court and hosted the TCA 3-on-3 Basketball Championship on the rooftop of the Oriental Rivonia Centre.

The Chinese Association hosted a formal Chinese New Year Ball on Valentines Day (Saturday 14th February 2026) for 350 guests at Indaba Hotel.
We are actively involved in organising various community functions to promote cultural and social interaction.
We are eager to support Chinese businesses with their exposure to the community, by setting up a network directory on the site.
