2025 WINTER DRIVE

The TCA (The Chinese Association, Gauteng) hosted our annual Winter Drive and collected donations over the past 3 months from our local Johannesburg Chinese Community who donated pre-loved clothes, non-perishable foods, sanitary pads, books, plus took their time to hand-make knitted and crochet goods of 100 blankets, 150 beanie hats and 100 scarves from wool that was donated.

We also wish to thank a textile factory in New Castle for donating 600 x beanie hats and 600 x Scarves, plus members you kindly made monetary donations towards this project.

We are are most grateful to TCA Women’s Federation, TCA Youth, TITAN Evolate Properties, Maverick Stars (Basketball Club) and Spiker-Roo (Volleyball Club) for also getting their members to contribute towards this meaningful cause.

Donations were handed to the Geralf Fitzpatrick House in Bertrams, Johannesburg  and also the  Tshepang Care Centre in Tembisa was selected this year to receive the donations, as they take care of the community in the township which comprises of 600 underprivileged residents in the community, plus the 60 orphan children that they take care of. The Centre is also a Soup Kitchen for the township.

On Sunday 27th July 2025, 55 members from TCA (The Chinese Association, Gauteng), TCA Women’s Federation, TCA Youth and TITAN Evolate properties…volunteered their time to visit Tshepang Care Centre. Where we prepared 600 x hotdogs and juice for the residents and played soccer with the teens and handed over the donations we received.

Our 55 volunteers ranged from 13 years old till 80 years old. They enjoyed visiting the Centre in Tembisa and learning about the good work that they are doing in Tembisa.
