TCA SOLIDARITY AND SUPPORT FOR ANIMAL RESCUE AND WELFARE

On the 18th of December 2022, the Chinese Association (TCA) arranged an awareness and fundraising event at the Woodrock Animal rescue facility in Gauteng. This inaugural event kick-started an initiative that raised R61,000 on the day that will go directly to the Woodrock Animal Rescue Facility in Gauteng.
The purpose of this donation is to raise additional awareness of abandoned, abused and neglected animals and to request all other associations, institutions and individuals throughout South Africa and also globally to join hands with TCA in giving much needed support for deserving animal welfare shelters.
The Woodrock Animal Rescue Facility was brought to our attention by Charlene Ma, daughter of a prominent local Chinese association leader Mr Arthur Ma of the SA Shunde Friendship Association.
Charlene had informed us of the good work done by Woodrock Animal Rescue and how they assist and monitor other animal welfare shelters and even shut down those that do not take care of their animals properly. She requested that the TCA give some publicity to this worthy cause.
The TCA decided to turn this into a major fundraising initiative that would show solidarity and support towards animal welfare shelters.
It is also hoped that this campaign will show that Chinese people are equally lovers of pets and animals as anyone else all over the world despite the negative stereotypes that they have become labelled with because of the heinous acts of a few of the mindless minority within our community whose acts of cruelty towards animals we publicly condemn!
Having launched the campaign the TCA would like to encourage and challenge all other organizations, institutions and individuals to match or beat our donation. There are several ways.:-
- A single amount of R5000.00
- Adopt an animal for R350.00 a month for a year ( This will be a “ virtual adoption” . Your donation will contribute towards one specific animal

2022年12月18號杜省中華公會發動了響應伍德羅克動物庇護所(Woodrock)的善舉，繼而喚醒社會大眾對被遺棄動物”保護及照顧”的愛心。在參訪的當天就受到熱烈的支持而募到R 61000，然後直接捐給了他們。
杜省中華公會這次的捐款，更深層的意義是希望帶動更多社會大眾，個人，團體或公司行號乃至世界各地都能參與照顧這些可憐被遺棄或被虐待的動物們。

向我們介紹並提議對伍德羅克動物庇護所(Woodrock)的支持幫助。
伍德羅克動物庇護所(Woodrock)不但救援並照顧被遺棄或被虐待的動物，還幫忙或監管其他動物庇護所，甚至關閉不法的動物庇護所。
杜省中華公會因而聽取馬翠蓮（Charlene）的意見而將”團結與支持動物福利”納入公會的活動之一。
更希望藉此機會向世界證明華人對動物的憐憫和愛心是不亞於其他任何人種。由少數害群之馬對動物殘忍的行為所造成大眾對華人的誤解及偏見能夠得到正本清源。
這將是社省中華公會持續的活動，我們期待也希望社會大眾，個人，公司行號或團體都能慷慨解囊，共襄盛舉！𧫴此建議以下幾種方式：
- －次性捐款 R 5,000.00
- 認養自己挑選的－隻 ( －年期，一個月R 350.00)
- 認領回家一隻動物
